Thomas Glin Hansard, 90, of Farmers Branch, Texas, passed away September 9, 2017, in Dallas, TX. He was born October 23, 1926, in Weston, Texas, the son of Jesse Garrett Hansard and Bonnie Faye Miller Hansard.

Glin was a veteran of both WWII and Korea. During one of his tours of duty he served as a US Military Policeman (MP) in the Philippines. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Colonel from the US Air Force after his service in Korea.

He was a very hard working man and a well loved greeter at Royal Haven Baptist Church. He loved the Lord more than anything and was very diligent to his faith. Glin taught his family the importance of tithing at an early age. He would regularly give his children a dollar for their allowance and add an extra dime so they wouldn't have to break the dollar when they tithed. He never cursed and was a prayer warrior. He always prayed for his family on a regular basis.

His favorite pastime was killing the competition at dominoes and cards at the Farmers Branch Senior Center. When Glin was in a domino tournament he would call his family and ask them to pray for him, and when he lost it was always his partner's fault!

He is survived by his wife, Betty Hansard of Farmers Branch; Daughter and Son-in Law, Renee Brackeen and husband Don of Forestburg, TX; Son and Daughter-in-Law, Kevin Hansard and wife Stacy of Dallas, TX; Grandchildren, Jared Brackeen and wife Malia and their children Reese & Hunter; Justin Brackeen and wife Julz and their children Avery and Aiden; Loren Harry and husband Judah and their daughter Aria; Chelsea Solano and her husband Joe and their children Avelyn and Kallen; and two great-nieces, Sylvia Wynn and Lisa Hill.

Services are scheduled for 11am Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Rhoton Funeral Home Chapel, 1511 South I 35 E, Carrollton, TX 75006. Visitation will be from 10am until 11am prior to services. Burial with military honors will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in honor of Glin to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, 800-822-6344, www.stjude.org/give.
